One person’s dream of honest business practices, along with determination and quality workmanship grows to the largest Family-owned Window and Flooring company in the Tri-State Area.
After World War II, our founder and Navy Veteran, came home to his wife looking for work and an opportunity to grow his family. Tom Adams Sr. moved to Bucks County and started working for a ball bearing company. But as his family grew, he needed to make more money and started to go door-to-door selling storm windows. In spring of 1955, Tom Adams rented a barn and committed full time to sell storm windows and doors in the evening and installing what he sold in the day. That was the start of Tom Adams Storm Windows Company. As the business grew and replacement windows started to become popular, so did the business. As the family grew to 4 children, all working in the business from warehouse to office, the business expanded to 4 locations. The name changed to Tom Adams Windows and Carpets and the products that we offered expanded to all types of flooring and selling builders and contractors. Mr. Adams has passed on, but the 2nd generation runs the business with the same mantra. "Quality Products, Quality Installation and Take Care of your Customers, for without them...there is no business." This daily care of our customers and business has grown our wholesale business and our retail business. The constant training and education of our sales and office staff and installers have made Tom Adams one of the largest award-winning family-owned home improvement businesses in the Tri-State Area. Stop by one of our showrooms or outlets. Ask your neighbors why they bought from Tom Adams Windows and Carpets.

"We rented the barn, and took the chance, that if I can
make local home owners happy, I can make a business of
selling storm doors and windows" said Tom Adams Sr.
That was the start in 1955 of Tom Adams Storm Windows
Company. It was an easier time. We only sold white
Windows and storm doors. Tom Adams Sr. went door to
door selling in the evening and then installing in the
daytime. A handshake was all it took to get an order. Our
husband and wife business started.
It didn't take long for our 2 person company to grow. The more we sold, the more installers were needed. Bucks county was growing too. Homes were being built that needed windows, doors, and flooring covering. Another opportunity to grow our product assortment and keep our customers happy and coming back.
A new warehouse was built on the property and inventory was needed to supply all of our new customers. Homeowners, builders, and contractors now knew where to go for all their home improvement products. Expansion to Montgomery County, Lehigh Valley, and Delaware County happened quickly. Our reputation for Honesty, Integrity in doing business, not to mention our quality installation helped us grow to the point that a second location was needed.
In 1991 and 2005, we opened our second location in Doylestown and 3rd location in Whitehall, Pa. Both showrooms were designed to showcase all of our products in windows, entry doors, patio doors, storm doors, siding, and all types of flooring. The showroom has vignettes that display hardwood, carpet, ceramic tile, and waterproof flooring. Customers can even see and operate one of the largest selections of Windows and Doors on display in a designer showroom. An outlet store was opened in Southampton, Pa to sell inventory overages from their manufacturers. With three stores open, it was important to the Adams family to continue to only sell top-quality goods and have them installed by their best installation teams. They kept their pricing to the lowest in the industry on stock products.
The past 20 years, our expansion was overseen by the 2nd generation of Tom Adams' family. "We are proud of the achievement of all of our employees" says Glenn Adams, president of Tom Adams windows and Carpets, We have built our largest show room in our original location in the Churchville / Richboro area only 12 years ago, and continue to grow our customer base. "Our goal is the same as my fathers" says Glenn "Honesty, Integrity, and quality products with a quality installation" - Tom Adams has grown to 50 employees and always remembers and teaches to take care of our customers and thank them for the opportunity that they afford us. Tom Adams has over 20 installation teams and started a service department to help. Those customers whose issues did not start with us but who we can still help in service repair or replace.
